Just For Kids Consignent Sale

FAQ

Why a consignment event fundraiser?

We thought this would be a great way to bring everyone together in order to help raise some much-needed funds and awareness for kids with sleep disorders. This is an underrepresented cause that affects children with all communities.

How often is the sale held?

The sales will be held twice a year, in each area that we have representatives and volunteers. In March/April for the Spring and Summer seasons and in September/October for the fall and winter seasons.

How much can I make consigning?

You can earn up to 75% of your items sold, consigning with our event.

Can I just donate my items for the consignment event?

Yes, you can. We will provide you with a tax form that is issued for items donated so you can use it for tax purposes. Any donations are greatly appreciated.

What types of items will you have for sale?

Just about any item related to children will be offered for sale. Each sale will offer a unique array of children's merchandise. Consignors are able to sell clothing, toys, books, games, videos/DVDs, nursery items (including furniture), bikes, maternity clothing, outdoor-toys and much more! We do are best to get the largest assortment of children's and teen items available for you to view. The shoppers who volunteer and arrive earliest will be able to view the largest selection.

What items will you NOT accept from consignors?

We will not accept items that are not in very good to excellent condition. Clothing must be free from stains, tears, pulls and excessive wear. We will not be able to accept undergarments or stuffed animals with the exception of battery operated (i.e. Tickle Me Elmo). NO Car Seats over 5 years old. Any item that does meet our strict criteria will be sent home from check-in.

May I consign maternity clothing?

Yes. It must be a current style and meet the same quality standards as the children's clothing.

Will you have any brand new item there for sale?

Yes, some consignors bring items that are new and still have tags on them. Those items sell quickly, so be sure to get in early if that is what you are shopping for.

Do I have to rent a booth or be present at the sale to sell my items?

No. All you have to do is drop your items off at your assigned drop-off time and day, before the sale and we will do the rest. You don’t have to come back unless you want to volunteer, shop the sale or till it is time for you to pick up your unsold items. All clothing is hung on racks according to gender and size. Toys and equipment are arranged by age. This all makes it easier for the shopper to find what they are looking for.

Why should I consign my items with Just for Kids rather than a garage sale?

A common misconception people have is that they can make just as much money selling their kid's items at a garage sale rather than consigning them. Just for Kids offers two major advantages over garage sales. First, we offer hundreds of items in all different categories all under one roof. A person would have to shop garage sales all year to find what they will find at one of our events. The second advantage is quality. We inspect all items prior to putting them on the sales floor. People know they will find quality, name-brand items at our sale. People are willing to pay a little more for quality, name-brand items they will know they will find in excellent condition all in one location.

Also, unlike a garage sale, you do not have to stay at the sale. You just prepare your items for the sale, drop them off during drop off time and we do the rest for you in a climate-controlled environment. You don't have to spend two or three days in the heat and there is no negotiating on the prices. The price you mark on the item is the price you will receive. On the last day you have the option to mark your items 1/2 price if you choose. The price is set by you and is marked ahead of time when you prepare your items

Teen Consignors / Clothing:
My son wears men's sizes clothes. Does that mean I can’t consign his clothing's?

No. A lot of teen boys wear men size clothes. As long as they are teen styles, please bring them. Please do not bring any items that are offensive or that have profanity. These items will not be accepted. You may bring any items, which are of teen’s style, no matter the size. We understand that our teens come in all shapes and sizes.
